I rather recently added highlighter as a part of my daily makeup routine. As I have gotten older, my skin just isn’t as glowing and bright as it used to be no matter what skin care product I use. This is a nice sized pallet for a highlighter. For reference, I have fair skin and classic ivory is the traditional color of my foundation. I ordered this highlighter in vanilla skeye, the lightest shade available. In its compact, this makeup looks like it has speckles of glitter. At first, I thought perhaps it may be more appropriate to wear strictly as evening makeup and not at the office. Once I applied this cosmetic, however, I discovered the sparkles are incredibly subtle and only serve to enhance the highlighting feature. A light application is such a simple and easy way to instantly brighten and freshen your eyes and skin.
I apply this product primarily to the top of my cheekbones with just a couple of little swipes on my forehead in the shape of a cross and a single dab to the outer corners of my eyes. This highlighter makes my cheekbones appear higher and my face look slimmer more like an oval shape. My face has a round shape, so I appreciate these little make-up tricks and tactics.
This cosmetic highlighter has an unusual texture. It has a mousse based formula. I usually prefer a dry powder form as a highlighter or shadow. Most creams leave a sticky residue and/or cause uneven creases. This highlighter, however, applies more like a powder in that it is easy to control the amount and placement of the shadow. This makes it much easier to blend in with blush, foundation and eye shadow as opposed to others that are cream or liquid based. I find that an angled makeup brush is the best method to use to blend. A single application lasts for several hours. This is a one and done product with no need for touch-ups during the day.

So……right off the bat, I’m not sure how or why this is labeled a “mousse” highlighter. Maybe I have a different definition of mousse, but this is definitely pressed powder (zero difference between this and eyeshadow). I got this in “Vanilla Sky” and it is EXTREMELY subtle. Like to the point of being nearly invisible (see photo). It doesn’t seem all that buildable either, I did multiple layers and can still barely see it. If you are looking for the teeniest, tiniest hint of highlight, this is perfect. But if you want more of a POP, this isn’t the highlighter for you (especially if you are a lighter skin tone).
I find the “long lasting” description to be completely incorrect. The highlighter literally vanished from the skin with the slightest swipe of my hand across my cheek. There’s no way this would hold up on a night out unless you’re using super glue as your setting spray.
Props for being cruelty free and cheap, but that’s more or less all this has going for it. It’s a skip for me.

I picked up the shade “Pinky Promise,” and what I like most about it is how subtle it is. It blends really well and gives just the right amount of glow without turning into an overpowering shine. The texture is lightweight, and seems to last all day. If I’m going for a softer shimmer, I use a brush, but when I want a bolder look, applying it with my fingers does the trick.
The tone works well on my skin and melts in easily. Lately, this is something I've reached for more often than I expected. For the price, it’s a great, and I’m glad I grabbed this shade because it fits right into what I do when I want a quick, easy glow.

Sheglam Cosmic Crystal Mousse Highlighter is a gorgeous product. I haven't stopped using it since I got it. Mine is in the shade Pinky Promise and I love it. This is a pressed powder formula that feels very soft to the touch, almost like a mousse. It looks gorgeous on the cheeks, nose, and as eyeshadow. I put it all over my eyelids for that wet glowy look that is very on trend. The packaging is minimalistic, made of thick aclyric and it looks elegant, it is sturdy and it does not occupy a lot of space. I highly recommend this product. It is very affordable and it has a high quality formula.
