I bought these in 2020 when they were the top of sennheiser line of over the ear headphones for a combo of work and music, as i was going to be working from home and needed a good noise canceling headphone set with mic to take calls on and possibly listen to music on between calls. I bought these at best buy after testing many out in their magnolia experience and that place was loud. So i could tell the noise canceling worked. After installing their app and doing their eq tuning the sound became absolutely amazing, especially with the 3rd party poweramp eq i had already been using and bought for other headphones. The battery still in 2024, even after daily use for 5-7 days a week for 3 years listening to music at max volume and taking calls for 8-12 hours a day and charging every day holds its charge and lasts as long as it did when new. I’ve seen no noticeable drop off in battery life or performance. I paid $499.99+tax for these at the time in 2020 at best buy and Amazon didn’t have them available, so $379.99+tax is a great deal only thing I’ve had to do is buy new ear pads as the factory ones wore out after all that. These are excellent over the ear bluetooth headphones with a case. I even got the momentum true wireless 2 earbuds because of how good their over the ear sound and both are my favorite earphones, used for different situations.

Warranty is not supported in U.S.!!!

I bought these headphones a few months ago. Some features were not available unless you install their app, but the sound and aesthetic was good for the price. HOWEVER- the headphones no longer accept any charging cable (USB-C), and so the battery is dying with no way of recharging it. What SENNHEISER isn’t telling you, is as soon as you ask for a warranty, they tell you that THEY ARE NO LONGER handling that, and send you to an infinite loop of OTHER people handling their consumer headphones. You go to THEIR website, and they say the warranty no longer applies to the US. I would NOT have bought headphones at this price, from a brand name like SENNHEISER, if I thought the warranty would not be honored. Do Not Buy!

These are one of the worst piece of junk headphones I have ever bought they don’t connect to bluetooth unless you turn them on and half at least a dozen times. There sound is average at best. I wouldnt have another sennheiser product if you gave them to me. They suck in every way!!!! You have been warned

I think it’s a scam, but could just be very poor currency conversion

this is a german written post. DONT BUY THOUGH. this is an obvious scam, but it could be a currency issue. nambia speaks german, and the currency there is about 5.1 cents to a single south african rand. 240$ (the price of these headphones normally) is about 4.7k rand. they could be trying to go 1-1 ration of rand-usd, which is a massive scam, but they could be underestimating the worth of an american dollar

Excellent headphones for under $200. Not sure why they are listed at this price – either a misprint or a scam. You can get this exact same set from many other sellers for the MSRP, which is about $200.

While these are quality headphones I’m sure, as Sennheiser is a good company, there is not anywhere on the net where these things actually have an MSRP of >$9000

Really good headphones

Sound quality
First thing to say is that these headphones have lovely dynamic sound. With the pre-made eq setting turned on in the app you get a very balanced and flat sound with tight, well-timed bass, clear and detailed mids and sparkling clean highs.

With the eq setting turned off there is a lot of bass which really lets EDM or rock hit harder, but it does mean sacrificing some of the cleanness of the bottom end.

I’ve tested them on a wide range of music and I’ve been impressed across them all.

It’s worth saying that the headphones come into their own when connected over USB C instead of Bluetooth- this paired with a lossless source brings out more depth, richness and detail. My understanding is that the onboard DAC is used in this mode but that it won’t handle completely uncompressed lossless audio – I’m not sure what the bit rate is, but you can hear the difference over Bluetooth, so it is higher res than that at least!

I can honestly say they’re the best sounding headphones if heard in a long time. They manage to be detailed, with good separation but without becoming clinical or harsh. They’re still warm and very easy to listen to.

Comfort
I find them pretty good. It would be nice if the headband was a little softer, but generally I find that I can wear them for a good few hours without getting uncomfortable.

Looks and build quality
They look gorgeous – if you’re into that retro look. The build quality is solid and the materials all feel premium, even the plastic backs to the cans. These have to be plastic to allow the Bluetooth signal in.

The leather pads are soft, comfortable and feel really premium.

Connectivity
So far it’s been very stable, it has sometimes been too good at switching devices, so you need to remember to disconnect it from devices when you finish. But no complaints here.

The app is also pretty decent although it is slow to connect sometimes. Once you’ve set your eq up you probably won’t need to use the app much though.

Overall thoughts
These aren’t cheap, but they are very good. The carry case is a let down and offers very little protection, I’ve bought a hard case on Amazon that fits for £14 and that fixes the issue!

They don’t have the best battery on the market and the active noise cancelling isn’t as good as my AirPod Pros, but that’s not really the reason to buy these headphones. They’re for listening for the pleasure of listening. I’ve found myself kicking back in the evening with a whisky and these plugged into my iPad with Apple Music set to hi-res lossless. Battery life and ANC are irrelevant in that situation!

Ljudet, koppling till blåtand m.m. är bra och fungerar smidigt.
ANC är inte perfekt men fungerar bra för mitt behov.
Dock sitter de väldigt hårt mot huvudet. (Har ej ett stort huvud).
Fungerar att köra trådat med bibehållen volymreglage m.m vilket är en bonus.
Trådat ljud är bättre än med Blåtand.
Fungerar dåligt tillsammans med blåtandsadapter Avantree DG80 men jättebra med telefonens blåtand.

Hade lurarna suttit mer bekvämt hade betyget blivit en 4a.

Tillägg: Efter ett par månader sitter lurarna inte lika hårt och mer bekvämt på huvudet. Detta gör lurarna bättre än 3 stjärnor så därför höjer jag till 4 stjärnor men man bör vara beredd och medveten om att de sitter hårt när de är nya.

Super Klang. Noisereduction kann nicht mithalten mit Sony, Bose &Co

Da ich ziemlich weit fahren müsste, um Kopfhörer testen zu können, hab ich mir erlaubt bei Amazon mehrere Modelle zu bestellen (Warehousedeals) und zu vergleichen.
Anforderung: Bluetooth mit Interesse an Noisereduction (ANC) und gute Klangqualität
Zu meiner Person: ich hab wenig praktische Erfahrung mit Kopfhörern, hab aber einen technischen Background (Akustik) und schon sehr viele High End Standlautsprecher gehört. Meine erste große Liebe war der B&W 804D usw. usf. Da der Theorie nach audiophile Kopfhörer viel einfacher zu bauen sind als audiophile Standlautsprecher, war ich zunächst guter Hoffnung was den Klang betrifft, war aber dann aufs höchste verwundert wie unglaublich verschieden meine Testobjekte klingen. Daher mache ich mir die Mühe und schreibe eine Rezension.
Ich höre und testete fast alle Musikgenres. Ich versuche mich kurz zu halten mit Mut zur Lücke.
Meine Referenz: der kabelgebundene Hifiman Sundara um €350. Der ist meiner Meinung nach bereits „audiophil“, er ist zwar recht hell abgemischt, hat aber bereits diesen samtigen weichen Ton, der nie anstrengend wird, wie er hochpreisigen Highend Lautsprechern zu eigen ist. (Ich seh keinen Sinn darin Bluetooth Kopfhörer, die kaum über die €400 Grenze gehen mit einem €1000 Kopfhörer zu vergleichen). Gleich vorweg. Keiner kommt an den Hifiman Sundara ran. Allerdings bin ich begeistert von der Noisereduction und werde wohl den Highendklang opfern müssen.
1. Yamaha YH-E700H Sehr bequem wie ein Sofa aber meine Ohren werden richtig heiß (Sommer). Bei Klimaanlage kein Problem. Der Klang ist gut aber der Bass für gewisse Musikrichtungen einfach zu dick aufgetragen. Die App ist minimalistisch. Sollte da irgendwann ein Equalizer dazu kommen oder ein „Bassboost off“ Schieber, wird der Klang interessant für mich. Allerdings ist die Noise Reduction noch unausgereift. Bei meinem Miele C3 Staubsauger versagt sie zB. vollkommen.

2. Sony WH 1000 xm3 (hab 4er bestellt aber in der Packung war ein 3er – Anc soll bei 4er noch etwas besser sein) Angeblich hat auch der zu viel Bass, aber im Vergleich zum Yamaha und PX7 harmlos). Dafür empfinde ich den Klang als korrekt aber unlebendig. Ein Sony eben! Sehr leicht und angenehm zu tragen, allerdings sehr nahe am Ohr. ANC ist toll. Bei geöffneten Fenstern mit Verkehrs- und Spielplatzlärm kommt fast nichts durch. Das könnte der Hit fürs Büro sein. ABER: Windgeräusche, Fahrtwind bei geöffneten Autofenstern usw. schafft er nicht. Ob der 4er das besser kann weiß ich leider nicht. App ist sehr üppig. 3D Klang fähig, ganz viele technische Einstellmöglichkeiten….usw.

3. B&W PX. Erster Eindruck: sehr schlecht. Sie schauen zwar super aus, sind aber schwer, haben recht hohen Anpressdruck, der Polster ist schlank und eher nicht so bequem, dafür aber sehr luftig und eher kühl. Der Klang im Vergleich zum Hifiman irgendwie blechdosig, aber immerhin einigermaßen neutral. Ich hab ihn erst nach längerer Testzeit der anderen wieder hervorgeholt und ihm doch noch eine Chance gegeben. Jetzt nach viel Zeit und Geduld ist er mein Favorit. Er hat zwar diesen Dosenklang (keine Ahnung welche Frequenzen dafür verantwortlich sind) aber er ist sehr temperamentvoll, der hat das gewisse etwas. Manchmal etwas scharf in den Höhen, aber es kommt Freude auf. Das ist keine Klangstangenware alla Sony sondern ein klangliches Einzelstück. Der Klang ist nicht ganz mein Geschack, aber dieser Kopfhörer „lebt“. Aptx hd hat er auch usw. Die App ist minimalistisch. ANC kann man am Kopfhörer an und abdrehen. In der App hingegen gibt es 3 Modi: Büro (super Klang leichte noisereduction), Stadt (hier werden sicherheitsrelevante Geräusche durchverstärkt) und Flug (max. Noisereduction und deutliche Abstriche bei der Klangqualität). UND: Während er dem Sony bei Verkehrslärm, Kinderspielplatz usw. unterlegen ist, ist er der einzige (PX7 auch) der Windgeräusche fast vollkommen beherrscht. Das hat B&W sehr gut gemacht.

4. B&W PX7: leichter und angenehmer zu tragen als der PX, Anc ist meiner Meinung nach kaum besser. Auch er beherrscht Windgeräusche wie schon der PX. ANC kann man jetzt am Kopfhörer selbst zwischen high, low und auto umstellen. ABER: Manche Musikstücke stehen ihm, da klingt er super. Toller Bass, auch Stimme klingt gut. Andere Musikstücke klingen schrecklich. Die Stimme wie hinterm Vorhang, der Bass vollkommen überzogen usw. Wie kommt es zu den vielen guten Rezensionen? Vermutlich sind das Leute, die nicht so bunt durch alle Musikrichtungen hören wie ich und letztlich gewöhnt sich das Hirn ja eh an alles. 😉 Zwischen ANC off und on ist viel weniger Qualitätsverlust als beim PX. Meiner Meinung deshalb, weil der PX mit ANC Off einfach besser klingt, deshalb fällt das beim PX viel stärker auf. App minimalistisch. Der bei meiner Kopfform angenehmste Kopfhörer, aber sehr wählerisch beim Musikstück, besonders der Gesang kann sehr leiden.

5. Sennheiser Momentum 3: Etwas günstiger. Kein High End, aber meiner Meinung nach toller Klang. Alles klingt gut mit ihm: Pop, Klassik, Jazz, Rap, Techno usw. Nicht so dynamisch wie der PX, aber dafür sehr ermüdungsfrei, er verschluckt nichts wie der PX7, hat wuchtigen Bass aber übertreibt nicht, wie der Yamaha. Sennheiser kann Kopfhörer bauen! Aber: das ANC ist wie beim Yamaha einfach schlechter als bei B&W und Sony. Achtung! Lange Haare verfangen sich im Klappbügel.

6. Bose: die sollen ja ein ganz tolles ANC haben, aber da sich die Fachpresse einig ist, dass sie musikalisch gesehen nicht so interessant sind, habe ich auf den Test verzichtet.

7. Ebenso habe ich auf beyerdynamic&Co verzichtet, die musikalisch vielleicht der Hit sind, aber beim ANC schwach sein sollen. Wenn mir ANC egal wäre, würde ich gleich einen Hifiman Deva nehmen.

Fazit: Wer sich im Büro abschotten will nehme Sony oder Bose. Wer bei 130km/h und bei ganz geöffneten Autofenstern hören will, nehme B&W. Wer Musik hören will mit ein bisschen ANC nehme den Sennheiser. Wer Bands wie Bassgewitter (nur Bassgitarren, keine Vocals) liebt, nehme den PX7. Beim Yamaha würde ich auf Rap&Co verweisen.
Letztlich gewöhnt sich das Gehirn an alles. Ich benutze beim laufen gehen einen 40€ inear China Mp3player weil er so unglaublich leicht und angenehm zum tragen ist.

J’utilise mon Senheiser Momentum 3 depuis maintenant 1 mois. Il est tellement pratique et confortable que je n’ai jamais autant écouté de musique: plusieurs heures par jour désormais. Je voulais un casque de qualité, mes critères principaux étant (1) la qualité du son (2) le confort (3) réduction du bruit ambiant. J’ai hésité car le prix est conséquent, mais je le conseille vivement à ceux qui décident de se l’offrir.

Les plus:
(+) Qualité audio: j’avais déjà un Senheiser avant, mais la première fois que j’ai utilisé celui-ci, j’ai été bluffée par la qualité du son. Les instruments ressortent nettement mieux (le timbre des instruments est plus “pur”). Senheiser est une marque réputée pour les audiophiles 😉
(+) Confort: avec le télétravail, je passe la majorité de mes journées en écoutant de la musique en travaillant. J’utilise donc le casque +4h par jour. Les oreillettes sont confortables, faites d’un cuir de qualité. Le casque est un peu lourd donc il faut éviter de trop baisser la tête, mais ça ne dérange pas lorsqu’on travaille sur PC.
(+) Réduction de bruit: il paraît qu’il existe mieux sur le marché (Bose), mais je suis satisfaite du Senheiser Momentum 3. Pour donner une idée, avec la réduction de bruit maximale, je peux passer l’aspirateur en écoutant de la musique sans devoir trop monter le son. Je n’ai jamais eu à monter le son de plus de 3 crans (alors qu’avec des écouteurs classiques j’étais à 9-10 crans).
(+) Casque intelligent: il s’allume/s’éteint quand on l’ouvre/le replie. Lorsqu’on le met autour du cou il pause la musique! C’est très intelligent et pratique, bravo Senheiser.

Les moins:
(-) Commandes: le casque est sensible à nos actions (par exemple il pause quand on le met autour du cou), mais parfois trop sensible: c’est frustrant lorsque je replace délicatement une oreillette et que le son s’arrête…
(-) Taille: il est gros. Sur ma tête en tout cas, il a l’air gros 🙃 Il n’a clairement pas été conçu pour les déplacements ou le voyage: il prend énormément de place dans un sac à main.
(-) Qualité du micro. Je l’ai acheté surtout pour écouter de la musique, mais j’ai été surprise lorsque j’ai dû réaliser des enregistrements audio, et que la qualité du son était aussi mauvaise pour un casque premium (lorsqu’on baisse légèrement de ton, par exemple en fin de phrase, les mots deviennent inaudibles). Aussi, je déconseille d’effectuer des appels; le rendu du son est assez désagréable: ce n’est pas un casque de travail, c’est pour écouter de la musique.
(-) Pas de housse de voyage. Peut être par ce qu’il n’est pas destiné aux voyages, le casque arrive dans une housse en tissu qui ne permet pas de le protéger correctement, si on veut emporter son casque en voyage par exemple. Ils ne vendent même pas de housse sur le site de Senheiser!

Autres conseils:
– bien nettoyer les oreillettes après chaque utilisation pour préserver le cuir
– veillez à disposer d’un câble USB C afin de pouvoir le charger
– téléchargez l’application Senheiser. Vous pourrez régler les paramètres de réduction de bruit (maximum, anti-pression, anti-wind…)
