Spotify users have been hit by a mysterious bug which causes music to suddenly blare from their phone when it’s locked.
The problem appears to be affecting people using iOS and causes tunes to play at inopportune times.
One victim of the glitch said it was ‘doing my nut in’, whilst others said music blasted out in meetings or on the tube without warning.
‘Please fix this bug,’ one man begged Spotify’s Twitter support account.
‘Every time I lock my phone when the Spotify app is in the background, music randomly plays.
‘Got scolded at work for my phone automatically playing Ima Boss by Meek Mill when I locked my phone in a meeting. Ridiculous.’
A woman also tweeted: ‘Opened Spotify but then decided not to play music so I paused the song, locked my phone, and put it on my bed.
‘All of a sudden I softly hear “it must be nice, it must be niiiiiice.
‘Creepy as hell.’
Another person went on to explain: ‘Whenever I pause Spotify (and take out my headphones) it just starts playing again when I lock my phone.
‘It has led to some very awkward lift scenarios, let me tell you.’
Users have asked Spotify and Apple’s support teams for help.
Apple advised users to try force quitting Spotify, restarting the device, installing updated software or deleting and reinstalling the app – linking to a generic advice page.
